Friendly service, tasty bar food, good drinks, great space, and lots of laughs. Also, one of the bartenders performs a fantastic balancing act.

Fun little place during the day, lots of specials and the service was great. It would be nice of they worked on food quality a bit, but it more of a bar than Grill.

I happen to love Tony's - decent bar food at a reasonable price, cheap beer, a divey and friendly atmosphere that makes drinking here a lot of fun. It's noisy, loud, and not especially clean - but it's a great place to grab some beers and food with friends after work, on the weekend, or watching a game. It's also very reasonably priced - I once had two burgers and two pitchers of beer between me and a friend for 20 Dollars. Best of all, it has some pretty fantastic beers on tap - like Pabst Blue Ribbon. Don't look for any upscale micro-brews or craft beers, but the old high-school college favorites for when we were too poor to afford anything decent are definitely there; and the price is still right. Some reviews complain about the staff - I've never had problems, but then again some people are real dickbags to bartenders, and tend to get treated as such. It's a dive bar, and is unfortunately saddled with loyalty to a shitty football team, but it's a lot of fun. The jukebox also offers some great choices. I'll definitely be back - again and again. A word of warning - if the sight of a smug pretentious hipster drives you into an violent murderous rage - steer clear of Tony's.

I want to give this place four stars. It has all the makings of a great pub, but it just lacks in a few major regards. For starters, there is a different between blasting good music and practicing for torture based interrogations at gitmo. There is no need to have a dj blaring at concert level decibels on a week night, let alone in a pub. Also the set up is a bit clustered and congested. The food is decent for bar food. The real pick me up of the place though is the staff and the great prices on drinks. I will give it another chance, and hopefully lean for a higher rating, but seriously blasting shitty club music from 5 years ago wasn't even in vogue 5 years ago.

Tonys is definitely my favorite bar in town. I get great service, always with a smile and I try to make it a ritual to come down on EVERY Sunday for a beer or 2....! Tony's has a big part in my "Sunday Funday" so much fun. I am a HUGE Hockey fan and if you like hockey, there is no better place to watch a game in town. If I wanted to go somewhere to enjoy some company over a few beers and get good service, Tonys is the place to go.

You want a dive bar? You got a dive bar. Tony's is one of my favorites due to their great bar food (love for the cheese curds & mac 'n cheese) and friendly staff. It can be a crazy schmear of patrons on any given day of the week but everyone still has a good time. Often Tony's will feature live music and they have a nice, fenced in back patio to chill on in the summer...which is even heated with a portable heater in the winter.

On 1/22/2014 and again on 2/27/2014 I wrote reviews and gave Tony's five stars. They just moved across the street and only thought to bring one star with them. They also forgot to bring their good help. I regularly meet with four friends every Tuesday for about two hours. I got out of Dodge in an hour today. What should be improved is worsened. Tony's has gained a beautiful old bar that is very spacious, a few pool tables but lost the ambiance that once made it the "best neighborhood bar" for fifteen or so years. The background music used to be intrusive. It now overwhelms. We had to yell at each other and the servers and repeat ourselves many times. I got hoarse. I didn't recognize a single server and the service was terrible. When Al and I joined the group we had to wait about ten minutes before we could flag down a server to get a drink. When we wanted to order food we had to waive our hands over our heads to no avail and finally one of our group[ went to the bar and dragged the bartender over who took our order. I wanted to leave quickly because of the din--I just wasn't having any fun with all of the racket. Al figured out that part of the reason was that five servers left to have a smoke break, leaving only the bartenders to cover the room. I finally grabbed a different server, she got my check for me and apologized for the noise. I thanked her for the apology, which was sincere, but pointed out that we had asked three times for them to turn down the amplifier and it actually seemed like they turned it up. With the TVs off and no music, this place wold still probably be uncomfortably loud because of all the hard surfaces, including a rather ugly ceiling. When I asked the guys where we were going to meet next week, one instantly piped up, "Not here!" I hope that Tony (or whoever owns Tony's) will bring in an acoustic engineer and do something about the noise level. They might also just have speakers adjacent to the TVs and allow those who wish to converse a little respite. I hope they fix this--it is sad when my favorite bar becomes my least favorite. I also have to wonder what happened to all of their good servers. Don't they know how to cross the street or did management forget to tell them that they were moving? I'll try them in six month or so, hoping that they can fix all that has gone wrong by that time.

Liked Tony's the first time we came. They just moved locations which is great, however, they aren't able to fill the bigger shoes yet. The service was slow and the servers were totally over burdened. We waited over 45 minutes for an order of cheese curds and when we asked for the bill we got some other tables' bill for double our cost. Moreover, the servers couldn't have been more unfriendly to work with. Normally, I wouldn't complain about bad service: if the food is good, I'll deal with bad service. But, in this case it's bar food and there's much better food down the street, therefore, crappy service means I'm out. I hope Tony's can get their operation straight and maybe I'll be back.

Pretty nice bar with plenty of Packer fans!! Gotta get here early if you want a table though! There's burgers, beer (Miller!!) and cheese curds(they've also got salads, sandwiches and daily specials as well)!! Love it!! :)

Cold beer, mid-western style bar food, that's actually real good! A cool neighborhood joint that's worth stepping into and enjoying a pint!

Tony's is really just you basic dive type bar. I wouldn't call it full on dive bar, it's downtown and actually fairly nice inside. I usually find myself here most nights when I do go downtown. The drink prices are fair, the staff usually is decent conversation, and the vibe is really chill. The only problem I have with tony's is when they have live music sometimes it can just be way to loud. They don't have music most nights so this isn't a problem. Oh& the Mac book DJ that plays there can get a little tired but just have a few more drinks and enjoy.

Highly recommend Tony's. Friendly staff, cold beer, good bar food. My only complaint with Tony's is all the Packer fans....especially on a Mon night if the Pack is on TV. Go Broncos! :)

Tony's really DID make me feel like I was back in the Midwest!! Schlitz and PBR, fried walleye and cheese curds. The food was good bar food, nothing to rave about. The price. . .was not cheap but I don't feel it was overpriced, well, $7.50 seemed a bit steep for a small basket of fried cheese but it was tasty. I doubt the fish was fresh but it was breaded nicely and crunchy on the outside. The coleslaw was good, although, a bit too sweet. The soft drinks are served in gigantic tumblers, huge!!! The service was quick and friendly. There were only two waitresses but they were both everywhere. I noticed that every table was served quickly. My drink came to the table immediately after I ordered and our food came out in less than 10 minutes. If the service is always this quick, this would be a great place to come for lunch on a work day. Seriously fast. I would not necessarily classify this as a true "dive" bar. It's a bar catering to those that want to say they hang out in dive bars but don't want to interact with the type of people that truly hang out in dive bars. Faux-dive bar, really.

Tony's is by far my favorite bar in town. Now that we have that bias out of the way... If you're looking for a dive-ish bar then this is your place. It's got that dirty mid-west bar thing going for it without you having to fear for getting Hep-C from the last patron at your table. The food is pretty standard bar food, but what do you expect? It fills you up and is tasty and most of it is probably fried. Besides, there's not that many places in Colorado Springs that you can get cheese curds anyway. Service is hit or miss sometimes when they're busy, but I've never had a problem with getting a beer in front of me within minutes of walking in and sitting at a table. My only complaint is that I wish when it is busy, there was just a bit more room to move. If you're from North Central Wisconsin, it'll remind you of home. Go Packers.

Here for a wedding and our friend who lives here recommend Tony's. I showed up after everyone had already been drinking. Sat with the crew and waited and waited and waited to be served. My friends were waiting for beer refills as well and eventually we said piss on it and left. We probably would have ordered food too. The bald guy was not up on his game I guess.

Ambiance: Dive bar atmosphere, but in a good way. Fairly long bar with lots of stools, and also quite a few pub tables scattered around. If you get there on a busy night, you'll be standing. Crowd is friendly. Juke box is going to be hard rock, and if you dare select anything else, expect your selections to get overridden by the bartender (which isn't cool -- if you want a certain genre of music in your bar - get rid of the jukebox and just play what you want to hear!) Service: Not very friendly. Kind of funny how so many 5-star raters acknowledge that, but does not seem to be an issue. Well, if I am paying good money and tipping well, I at least want a smile and a thank you. To me this is taking your clientele for granted (they will keep coming back regardless of level of service). Food/Drink: Nothing special drink-wise, and the food is boring and ordinary. For good, greasy, cheap food, I'll take a two block walk to King's Chef on the other-side of Acacia Park. Overall, I totally get the whole "Wisconsin" thing, and this place plays up to a certain clientele. Each bar has their own personality. Obviously, this place doesn't do it for me. For me the best and most fun dive bars are not located downtown, but are out in the neighborhoods of this city. Not a fan of Tony's, but to those who love it - rock on!

PBR and cheese curds, does it get much better than that? Love this classic Colorado Springs dive bar. Gets a little crowded, and has gone a bit downhill since the CC kids snooted it up.

I returned to COS from Los Angeles three years ago and Tony's was the first place I hit. What can I say, it was walking distance from where I was staying and I just happen to love this place, but let's weigh the pros and cons. Pro: Tony's never has a cover charge (probably due to the fact that they only get local cover bands to play) Pro: They've got the best bar menu out there. Let's face it, when at a bar you can't expect the moon and the stars but Tony's delivers the kind of food you crave after a beer or two. Pro: Great specials, for instance there is awesome Tuesday's where you can grab a hotdog, chips and beer for $2 - GTFOOH! Pro: This place changes by the hour. You know how some places have a certain crowd to them? Well, Tony's is filled with everyone from the white collar business man to the lowly college student. Working professionals fill the place during lunch and happy hour but as early evening turns to night, a younger livelier bunch usually funnels in. Pro: It's a beautiful space. I have this idea of what a neighborhood bar is supposed to look and feel like and Tony's is spot on. OK, now for some cons: Con: I agree with some of the earlier reviewers about the beer selection...it's a bit limited and lame. Con: Again, in agreement with some other reviewers, the staff is not as friendly as other bars in town. I've been in this place A LOT the past three years and not a single bartender knows my name. Con: Kids. I occasionally see kids in here enjoying an early dinner with their parents. I don't know why that bothers me but it does. Just because kids are allowed before 9pm doesn't mean you should bring them. Strollers in a bar = I hate you. That's all I got - looks like the pros out-weigh the cons.

Great bar! My kind of bar where people are who they are and do not care what you are wearing, who you are dating, what you are drinking...etc. A huge relief from the college bars down the way. Bartenders were friendly and social. And if you treat them well, they will do the same for you. Come in with an attitude and you're toast. LOVE IT! The pickled eggs are a great conversation starter and a great way to find out who can handle a challenge....55 cents worth of entertainment! I can't wait to stop back in on my next CO trip!

  • Jason D.

If you want a dive bar that isn't too divey, Tony's is the place. The food is nothing special, the beer selection sucks, but the place oozes character and you always feel welcome. Suits work, dirty clothes work. It is a judgement free zone.

This is a Green Bay bar with Green Bay food and good people. Worth a trip for the cheese curds and conversation.

Walk into Tony's and look around for a second. If you like what you see and feel at home, saddle up and order a pitcher. If you're unsure, turn around and go somewhere else. Tony's gets 5 stars for being completely honest and 100% Colorado Springs. It's a bar-bar with sports on the tv, cheap beer on tap and surprisingly OK bar food. The crowd is exactly what you would expect in the downtown Springs: working-class 20/30-somethings, CC students, and rugged middle-aged guys who have seen better days. The staff is used to people who want to shut up and drink their beers, so they don't come at you with a huge smile. Stick around, chat for a while and they'll open up. Come in a few more times and your drinks magically get stiffer and appear a lot quicker. Bartenders Josh and Johnny deserve their own mention for working hard and being friendly.

I love this bar! I had been searching for a spot with friendly patrons and a simple menu. I was pleasantly surprised to find both AND an amazing Bloody Mary! It couldn't have been more delicious than if I mixed it myself. Burgers were juicy and the fries were crispy. Being a Packers bar I couldn't pass up the cheese curds which were equally tasty.

What can I say, it is what it is. It doesn't pretend to be anything else. They serve cheap beer and greasy food for cheap. I imagine the ok-ish service goes hand in hand with that. I guess if you don't want greasy food or PBR, then don't go here. It's just a good time, and I am determined that someday I will eat more than 16 pickled eggs, thus earning myself a place of honor on their menu. Kudos for the small smoking area out back, with a standing heater, so you can take your drink out with you to smoke. It makes it feel a little less like you are a total outcast who has to stand out front shivering in the cold. My husband calls this "Blue collar heaven - unapologetically so."

Love, love, LOVE this bar. In fact, it's usually the only bar I hit up when I'm in town. I'm a little appalled by Stephen F.'s review, but I guess he's not a Wisconsonite-by-association as I am. Too bad, cause he's missing the point of Tony's! What's Good About Tony's: 1.PBR on tap. Now, I am a beer snob through and through and typically would not touch the stuff, but when in Rome... 2. Tatoos- again, I don't have any, but I sure like to look at 'em 3. The sweet juke box. like could spend all night deciding on music because there are so many good choices 4. Tuesday nights. Nerd Bomb. Cover band of guys who used to do punk and now play anything from Portishead to Weezer. Gotta respect that. 5. Shots. The bartenders will drink them with you. Often give you free shots. COME ON (think Gob, Arrested Development). 6. Locals. And lot's of them. And drinkers, they are. What's Bad About Tony's: It's in Colorado Springs, not San Francisco. That sucks.

Tony's is Colorado Springs' worst bar. Most of the time. This time, though, it wasn't so bad. Thanks, Bartender Josh! We walk to Tony's every time it storms because it's the closest bar, and also because it's a tradition. Like another reviewer mentioned, and like I've ranted about before, the service is usually terrible. But this time, yesterday night, Tony's was the bar I wish it were all the time. A-plus. oinkety.com/?p=139

This is one of the more crowded places downtown, also noisier. Their food is pretty good, although mostly unhealthy. They've got super spicy pickled eggs for fifty cents. The beers are super cheap. Our bill for two beers and two dinners was $20. I wouldn't want to hang out there all night, but it's definitely a good place to grab a bite to eat and have a drink or two.

When a bar is the closest place to where you live you'll tend to give a it break on few issues but unfortunately Tony's has disappointed so many times I can't go here any more. What are the few issues...well let's start with the lame beer selection. I know they are trying to be a lowbrow neighborhood Wisconsin bar and do the PBR thing but it's not the 1950's anymore. The food is lame so eating here is out of the question. I could almost get around these issues if it weren't the kind of place where the staff couldn't care less about you unless they know you. And the last draw was the last time I went in there on a slow night filled the jukebox with a variety of tunes and sat down with a few friends only to notice the bartender override maybe 15 selections so they could play their stuff. I could have complained but they wouldn't have cared.

Its the best GOD DAMN bar in the city! If you enjoy feeling the reality of your neighbor, living without an agenda, and just rockin! You will have a good time! Dont expected to be pampered though unless you T.I.P. well! Dont blame them! Koontz

My group of about 30 had a great time! I was a little concerned because of the bad reviews concerning service but we did not have any problems. Everything we ordered came fast and correct, pretty good when you are taking care of 30 people. The Rubin's were very good, several ordered the Frito salad and like that as well. The age group was mixed in the bar...at least at 5:30pm to 8:00pm. I was happy to see that because I was afraid it would be a college crowd and my group is 40 ahummm +

Had a cheese burger and fries. The burger tastes like one of those frozen 1/4 patties you buy in bulk. Nothing special there. Fries were ok. Someone at my table ordered cheese curds...for almost 8 bucks...yikes!!!

Food is fantastic! Service, on the other hand, leaves tons to be desired. Our waitress left after about 10 minutes after we sat down. Cook brought our food, did not get any service until I went to the bar to get refills on drinks. I mentioned that we had not been serviced for about 45 minutes at this point...bartender didn't even acknowledge...was pretty rude actually...still awaiting our check...like I am literally still sitting here while I write this review... Very very disappointed...I'll probably leave some sort of tip, but hopefully it will go to the cooks, who prepared and SERVED our meal...if only the cooks could refill a drink...

cheapest drinks in town. not as hard to get a drink as people make it sound. it's a bar, not a restaurant. don't expect table service. I love the cheap drinks, but I don't love the creepy crowd. one guy pracgically forced me to let him buy me a drink. my next visit I was literally circled by wingmen and had to force my way out to tell security to have them back off.

I'm not well versed in the nuances of bar bars. There are restaurants with bars and there are bars with food. I typically don't got to many of the latter. Tony's is a bar bar and it is awesome. First off, if you are looking for a midwestern vibe with hockey, Packers, Leinenkugel and the like, Tony's is the place. Pickled eggs? Apparently that's a midwestern thing and Tony's offers them. Marble rye with butter and raw onions? Yep! It's a different world that I was unaware of, but I can't wait to return for more.

I'm a huge Packers fan so I obviously wanted to love this bar. The problem here is the staff. They serve everyone by committee which causes confusion and a lack of good service. Any time we wanted anything we had to flag down anyone we could find to get it for us. Some of the drinks came out promptly and some took 30 minutes to get to us. They said it was because they were busy since it was during a Packers game, but honestly that's what you should expect and be better prepared for... It's a Packers bar! The biggest error here is that our friend got charged for an extra pitcher of beer, which was promptly taken off the bill, but then one of our 5 servers started to get an attitude under her breath. What for? We were commenting to ourselves how we thought this serving by committee left room for mistakes like this and she got really upset at us for it. I quickly got escalated to the manager who doesn't care at all so don't bother. I don't tip well for bad service, so I'll do you all a favor and never come back ;)

Tony's is a five star Wisconsin bar in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs. It has the Northwoods feel and it is a very welcoming restaurant with great food and beer on tap. Highly recommend anything from breakfast, to burgers, and most importantly the fish fry on Friday nights! Most importantly, Tony's Bar is the best location to watch a Green Bay Packers game during the football season. You will not be disappointed at Tony's! Go Pack Go!

Dropped in for happy hour (which they have 7 days a week). Love the new place, very open and clean. Looked at the menu and will be back. Food looked good and reasonable. Home made green chili!

Use to go there and have a breakfast and a beer ...the food was so BAD this time that even when they retried I would not eat it...Sad ..service ....Sucked and I will not ever recommend it or go back..a true loss for the downtown area

  • Lara M.

The servers here seriously hate serving anyone. They eye roll at most requests, respond rudely to concerns, and seem offended to be asked to do their jobs. I wish I could come back here because I like the setting, but the horrible attitudes of 9/10ths of the staff make it not worth it.

  • Jon W.

Went here for lunch today, and it is a quintessential dive bar. I will say, however, my drink was a little small. They asked if I wanted a mini-pitcher, and I'm sure the people in the know understand what it is. I didn't. So I had two tiny drinks? I think Jonathan B. (see review) has the best discription for the place. But the menu boasted a triple decker grilled cheese (two different cheese!) and it was not epic. In fact, it let me down. Should have known better than to order a grilled cheese, but I did. The pickle were three pickle slices rather than a wedge on the side, and the mac-n.-cheese side was pretty bad. The vibes are good, the drinking is good, and I'll give it another try, but it wasn't special.

The experience was great, but the service not so much. The group I went with ended up playing geek trivia. This was pretty cool and had a total of 8 rounds and top three teams get money taken off their tab. They have home brews which are tasty and a grill. The garlic fries are pretty tasty and the atmosphere all together was welcoming. Music was a bit weird it was mainly covers over regular popular songs. Some were good some and not so good. It's a cool place to kick it in down town Colorado Springs. Most people leave around 11pm, which is what I found odd. Then again this was my first time here.

    (3)
  • Nicola V.

I get cravings for their garlic fries, and when I'm feeling a little antisocial it's perfect, because they take my order quickly, the food gets right out, and there's no fuss. Not fancy by any means, but good beer, decent bar food, and reliable.

  • Tim S.

Stopped in here with the kids to get out of the rain. Service was friendly but a bit nonchalant, we got Shirley Temples for the kids and I had a couple of Coors. Nothing crazy. Interior was low-key, had a garage feel to it, and looked like it could withstand a soccer riot. Not a bad place.

    (3)
  • Liz B.

Like cold fries, nachos that have clearly been sitting under a heat lamp for 30 minutes and being surrounded by dirty dishes? Then this is the place to be! Gross. I will never eat here again.
